GLA MEMBER GIVES SUPPORT TO ENOUGH IS ENOUGH CAMPAIGN
At a slightly rainy photo-call on Saturday 1st November, Roger Evans, GLA Member for Havering and Redbridge, and Chairman of the London Assembly (pictured fifth left in top photo and far right in bottom photo) said: “The residents of Aldborough Hatch have had to live with sand and gravel extraction for over 50 years. This area of Green belt close to their homes is enjoyed by walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike. I fully support residents who say that ‘enough is enough’ and trust that they will be left in peace to enjoy this much-valued stretch of countryside on their doorstep.”
We were also grateful to be joined again by Lee Scott MP for Ilford North (pictured right in top photo), who continues to activity support our campaign.
It is really good news that Roger Evans has agreed to talk to Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. The Mayor is responsible for deciding which London Boroughs are required to extract sand and gravel – and Roger is clearly of the view that Aldborough Hatch has had more than its fair share!
